Terms and Conditions

This contract will serve as the basis for all tutoring arrangements between Tutor and Tutee for the entirety of lessons.

General

All lessons will be organised via an online calendar as agreed by the Tutor, Tutee and Parent/Guardian, the client will receive confirmation of the booking and the client is responsible for ensuring all details are correct.

Whilst having enhanced DBS checks in place, it is the responsibility of the client to ensure that adequate adult supervision occurs during a lesson (if required).

For any face-to-face lessons, there is a requirement for the student to have access to a quiet open space (family room/ dining table) during tutoring sessions to enable a safe conducive work environment for the tutor and tutee.

All Science risk assessments for “follow-with-me/ do try this at home experiments” will be distributed by email at the time of the booking, the client is responsible for ensuring sufficient adult supervision occurs during the lesson and at any time the tutee is engaging with the experiment.

Termination of services should be one month in advance, otherwise any sessions due throughout the month leading up to the termination date must be paid for in full.

The client accepts these terms and conditions by acknowledgement of sending payment.

Fees and cancellations

Lessons are payable in advance by 24 hours, all fees shall be calculated as specified correct at the time of booking.

The Tutor may adjust their fees at any time and will provide the Tutee with 30 days written notice in such cases (this does not affect any pre-booked lessons for the half term).

In the first instance of a cancellation, every effort will be made to reschedule at a time agreed by the tutor and the client. The following terms are also upheld:

  • Client cancellations within 24 hours of scheduled lesson will incur a 50% lesson fee

  • Client cancellations within 4 hours of scheduled lesson will incur 100% fee

For 1:1 sessions, there should only be a maximum of two cancellations per term (3 month term) to ensure continuity of learning. No carryover/ rescheduling of catch ups will be offered after this maximum has been reached. For group sessions, any cancellations are redundant since the student will have access to the recording of the session, so there will be no carryover or catch ups required.

GDPR

Any contact details collected from any of the forms on this website will be stored for a maximum of 6 months after the client no longer requires the services of iStudy Tutoring.

Any recordings of group sessions will have names of students abbreviated to initials (for anonymity) and will be stored on google drive for a maximum of 1 year after the lesson has taken place. The recordings can be produced by requesting access from the tutor.

All of the contact details or recordings will be held securely and only be accessed by iStudy tutors unless you have requested access for your own information.

Group Sessions

Students must not be disruptive or disrespectful to any member of the group. If this does occur, then in the first instance a verbal warning will be given. If the student ignores this warning or the behaviour is deemed too inappropriate to continue in the lesson, the student will be immediately removed from the live lesson and parents will be contacted. If a resolution can be found before the next live lesson, the student will be able to continue to attend the live lessons as normal. No refunds will be given for any instances of removal from lessons.

The group sessions will state if they are a revision tool or the full course of teaching, it is the clients responsibility to ensure they are placed in the correct group to meet the needs of the student.
